Phase 4 Restoration Work Begins, Expected Completion in May 2027

The groundbreaking blessing ceremony for Phase 4 of the Meihe Shanzhuang restoration was held on January 13, 2026, presided over by Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-cheng, with the chairman of the Meihe Shanzhuang Lin Clan Association and Lin family descendants in attendance.
This phase focuses on the third right wing (hu-long). Based on prior research findings, the exterior will be restored to its original appearance and inappropriate additions will be removed, while the interior will accommodate the owners' living needs. The project budget is approximately NT$37 million, including a NT$24.05 million subsidy from the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, and completion is expected in May 2027.
Across Phases 1 through 4, the central and local governments have together invested more than NT$140 million in restoring Meihe Shanzhuang. Once the entire complex is restored, it will be open to groups and individuals by reservation, with guided tours arranged by the clan association. The villa will link up with nearby attractions such as Daxi Old Street, the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum, the Li Teng-fang Mansion, and the Cihu Mausoleum area, enriching cultural tourism in Daxi.
